friday
we took our own sweet time to get from school to st andrews cathedral after assembly, resulting in us being late and what did we get for being late? no seats in the main cathedral, and having to sit upstairs watching the entire student council commendation ceremony on the big screen projector. -________-" like watching some live world cup match or smth. it wasn't too bad though, because i'm sure it was way better than sitting all the way back of the cathedral staring at some mini television set trying to figure out who those dots on the tv are. Lol. sitting upstairs with the whole lot of others who were late as well was kinda fun though. the crowd upstairs were kinda rowdy though, some snickering at the priest's singing, some listening to mp3 players, some sleeping....tsk tsk. i cannot deny that i didn't sit through the entire ceremony without turning around to chit chat with the other house comm ppl though. haha.
i managed to sit with glen, elena, anisha, nat and sharon and we just gossiped throughout about how the house council doesnt get as much prestige even though we are still student leaders and so on. lol, oops. but seriously, i think SAJC should modify their sc commendation ceremony. as in, why not include the house council and all the capts of the competitive sport CCAs? i mean, are the only student leaders in the school the student council? just because the other student leaders do not plan orientation doesnt mean we are no better. i'm sure leading the respective competitive sports to winning medals and trophies for the school doesnt come easy.
and btw, house council also plans just as many concerts, interhouse games, events as the student council!(disclaimer: no offence to any student coucil members of SAJC) ok, so you can see why we had so much to talk about. about the reputation and recognition of the house council not matched up to the student council as the "highest" order of student body. but anyway, as student leaders, we should do stuff for the right reasons and for the glory of God and not for selfish personal reasons such as fame and glamour.
thus, i thought the guest speaker (some guy who's head of YM (youth ministry) was very inspiring. the pledge and motto he made for himself was really good i think, and as a fellow believer, i thought it was really motivating, both spiritually and not spiritually :)
went to kenny rogers' at marina with the 7th house comm for lunch after we took SO long to decide where we wanna go to. kinda reminds me of the Delta days, where we would stand in a circle out of nowhere to plan for the next location. haha the good ol' days. anyway, went back to watch the inter-house sevens rugby match. i wasn't really watching but...good job Gomes players! Gomes won third! haha yay. xiaojie and i played (or rather imitated pro volleyball players) volleyball when we got hold of the volleyball. hahaha and nat and i kicked (or rather attempted to) the rugby ball around. lol yay i shall suggest volleyball the next pe lesson :D then i went for cell at barker at 8. thought it was rather enlightening. i want to continue going for more cell!
ok i shall FINALLY go start on my H1 now...Lit.
