Today i had the best train ride home. Hahahahah ok let me start from the beginning of my journey ride home from School. At Outram, i was secretly hoping that something exciting would happen (like a blackout on the train, then everyone would have to get off and walk on the tracks then we'll be interviewed. Lol!)

Then, something exciting did happen! The train had damn alot of pauses on the tracks on its way from Outram to Redhill then to Queenstown and the intercom kept apologising for the delay :/ Then it commanded all passengers to alight at Queenstown, so everyone did, and crammed up the entire platform. Then the next train came and everyone was quite happy (i was People Watching) but to their dismay, the next train had the same problem and every passenger had to get off. Haha! It was quite a sight cos the intercom mentioned the word Shuttlebus, then you could see everyone rushing down almost immediately and the entire escalator was full of people. I just stood there to laugh at the damn Singaporean sight. There was even a photographer who was taking pictures of the incident. So the next train came, and the exact same thing happened, flooding the station even further. It's quite funny how you can see so many characters gathered in one location. A middle aged man helping this old folk, a Chinese woman chatting up this Muslim lady (Racial harmony! My pw. Lol), teenagers cursing non stop, tired working adults sighing continuously.....quite interesting to People Watch. Anyway then Train service finally resumed (so that was the 4th train) then the intercom just had to make the announcement that everyone dont need to tap their card and can enter through the service gate at the control tower, which just resulted in and even larger influx of people. It was quite an amusing sight to see everyone rushing into the train (me included) and all the Kiasu people squeezing their way through and the intercom had to make the announcement for people not to overcrowd the trains.

On the train, a woman beside me suddenly asked "Are you Samantha Kwan" and she turned out to be a relative of my Dad. So coincidental right! She wanted to approach me for a long time alr (like after 2 stops) cos she kept staring at me :/ Anyway small world. Then i had to get off at Clementi and the guy behind me also had to get off so he was like shouting at the top of his voice "Excuse me" and there was a huge crowd at the door totally nonchalant about the people (including me) wanting to get off and just blocking the doorway. Then, as usual, there was a huge crowd of Kiasu Singaporeans pushing their way into the carriage and not allowing the people inside to get out. So i had to squeeze my way through. then you could hear people shouting at each other to make way, and people Tsk-ing, cursing....Typical Singaporeans :/ Oh and the same technical glitches probably happened at Clementi cos not only was there overcrowing of people on the platform, but police officers patrolling the station.

I bet this will appear in tmr/ day after's newspaper. Ok so that sums up my most memorable experience on the MRT. Even though i wasted close to 45 minutes, it was rather amusing and interesting. (i feel like im writing a pri sch compo) :/

The End
