First post of 2007! Blogging on my new laptop now :D
Okay let's see how i ushered in the new year yesterday.
I think its God's work that He put me in SAJC and hence i got to meet Darrell, who was not only my classmate but happened to be Vicky's cousin. Vicky's one of my primary school best friends whom i lost had not made contact with for eons. Thanks to Darrell (somehow), i managed to find back Chuwen, Gloria and Vicky. Even though we havent had a proper gathering but at least i was somehow reuinted with them again. Haha, okay thank you Darrell :)
So after church Darrell and I went to Chuwen's to stone the entire morning and afternoon :/ But we had fun stoning and catching up and that's all that matters right. :) then i had to rush home to prepare for the new year party at my country club that night. the theme was Rolling Good Times, so its supposed to be retro right, but no one was dressed to the theme :/ But yes, there were alot of elder people (aged 40-70???) mostly Tai-tais, yeah the kind who love waltzes, tangos, line dances. The only people our age were the waiters and waitresses :/ So when it was time to dance, me and my sister just stared blankly and gossipped about all the people on the dance floor. lol, they were how enthu please but they were quite good too la but i didnt expect so many dancers. So that's what you do after Retirement - sign up for waltz dancing classes with your partner. My dad and I spent the entire night spying on this guy whom we think was Huang Yi Liang, the Channel 8 actor who misbehaved. lol he was wearing a wig and he changed dance partners many times. and when it was 12.01am, thousands of balloons were released from the ceiling then there was a whole lot of noise by everyone (cos they gave out party noisemakers). I pity the waiters and waitresses and the cleaners who have to stay back after 1.30am when the party had died down from all that dancing, and they have to clean up the entire ballroom dance floor which was filled with confetti and the 90++ tables which were still dirty from all the food. Then there was this old couple who were each armed with a foam spray bottle in their hands and spraying foam at each other, not caring about the people around them (they were blocking the doorway), they were behaving so childishly la, i felt like telling them to act their age :/ Oh well, somehow i think that new year countdown parties are overrated and i think i should have gone for Watchnight Service at church instead (but i guess i shouldn't comment too much cos i can just see myself going to one more next year) ....
So anyway, since it's the new year, HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
CHEERS to good health, good fun, good relationships, and good grades!
