Back from brmc church camp! @ Marriot Hotel, PutraJaya, Malaysia
had throbbing headache and fever the first night of camp and took two panadols with advice from doctors/med students (seriously quite a number of them in brmc) now having a sore throat i think (finding it hard to swallow saliva, like smth stuck :(
food was good (good spread for all meals so ate alot), accomodation was great (it being a 5 star hotel), facilities was good (spa sauna pool, didnt gym), plus with all the really good theme talks/workshops/games, good music, good comapany, it was like a piece of heaven (as quoted from daniel) slept late at 2am only last night watching charlie and the chocolate factory in kaye's room with quek/maurice/claire/amanda. oh and i think the reception probably knew me cos i kept calling room service asking for comb/toothbrush/wake up calls...
and you know how you come back from church camps feeling all recharged and feeling full of the holy spirit and ready to face the world with a new determination and all that, well,Thank God for that feeling. But i actually came back from this one with more questions than answers, having witnessed certain things that really, there is no scientific explanation. but really, i was quite enlightened by the answers/comments that were given during workshops/theme talks (considering also there were 3 law/potential law students with me)
oh and i guess brmc environment can be quite stressful academic wise, since almost all of them are either from acjc/rjc/hcjc/acsib...then you ask around who is doing what, going where after their As, and you will get all inspired but pressured to do well and keep up (can u believe the lowest in j3 sunday school cohort is an ABB) at the same time, but it's probably good la, healthy stress levels.
camp theme song (composed/recorded by clar chng/jon ong) stuck in my head. prayerful song with meaningful lyrics
Father tune our hearts to your spirit
calling us to follow Jesus everyday;
(there's more and i cant remember offhand now)
Lord make us holy, set apart for you
Lord make us holy, cleanse our hearts and make us new.
let the fragrance of Jesus be carried in our lives,
make us holy, Lord, like you.
photos will be up soon (once amanda/claire sends them over)
Godspeed!
