ok so phuket was a great way to start off the new year. transpotting (no, i wasnt one of them), gaywatching (no not my kind of ppl either but amanda and i had fun spying and evesdropping into their conversations), playing cards late into the night, suntanning, taking jumpshots, snorkelling (not as easy as i expected cos corals on the seabed super sharp so i got a cut on my foot), good thai food, good thai massages. and i havent put up phuket photos since the beginning of Jan. nevermind, there's facebook, which makes photo uploading and sharing alot easier.

so im broke cos most of my money has been spent on eating out and my pay (which is not much) hasnt come yet. but still, work has been quite fun. at least i get to go to places which i would not have a chance to go to, seeing im not a millionaire. lol just went to Prive @ Keppel Bay today, private yacht club near harbourfront. haha go there mingle, give out namecards, shake hands, small talk, eat good food (warm chocolate cake was damn gd) and some nice lady gave me a lift back to the office. (ya i very slut i know lah haha) and going for some boat viewing thing next wk, quite cool lah.

now i know why every other girl wants to be a tai tai. but then again, the more i write reviews of upmarket products (from carl F. bucherer watches to bvlgari bags to super posh furniture), the more indulgent people seem. it's kind of amazing how much money these people (millionaires of course, the target group for our magazine) have to spare. witnessed a few for myself who just whipped out their chequebooks without second thoughts as to buying a four seasons private residence in toronto at the viewing last friday at four seasons hotel.

and can you believe an armani-casa sofa set costs $40,000 and a Wyler Geneve watch costs $14,300? lol im actually getting quite used to seeing these figures come in thousands, so much so that when i went window shopping with rachel chiang last evening, a parker pen at $128 seemed cheap. (but that's because the pens i've been seeing in the office on press releases are like what, Namiki Zodiac Special pen for $1000) but after that of course, reality hits and i look into my wallet seeing there isnt a cent in there (ok i exaggerate but sort of true cos the bus fare already leaves me with nothing). tsk inflation. and then i get a sense of realisation how hard i need to work next time to earn money and keep up with the rising cost of living. ok so i think alot more nowadays, esp on days where you have to have lunch alone. (kinda pathetic i know, but not all days i eat with colleagues cos they are all busy with their own stuff as well and not to mention alot older) now i wish i had studied a little harder, sian. much too late for any regrets now, still super scared for any outcome.

on a lighter note, im seriously thinking abt getting a nintendo wii. and my mother wants to remove disney and all the other cartoon channels in place of it. haha still browsing around online and in stores for the best deal, though i have a hunch that we're most probably going to get it. and if i do, im definitely getting guitar hero. and will let you guys know if i do get it.
