if you flip open the sports section (which i usually do not, until most recently and it's only women's golf, hur hur) you'll see all that buzz about the HSBC Women's Champions at Tanah Merah country club. the competitions until Sunday, started today (thurs) and press conferences which i attended were on tues and wed. I feel like attending the tournament though, cos i have a media pass which i shld make full use of (public to pay $20)!
Oh i interviewed Pak Se Ri for about 5 min (cos the girl from the PR agency was super ngiao and Se Ri had filming to do after my interview so i didnt get a chance to take a photo with her!) :(
And i wanted to interview Natalie Gulbis intially! But that day (the previous day) i didn't have my tape recorder with me (the perm writer took it on her trip to Taiwan) and what's more was, i was too shy! :( i sat in with the Straits Times' sports writer's and GolfPunk magazine's 1 to 1 interview with her but was too shy to say anything! so i told her my name and shook her hand :/ oh also i didn't exactly get a 1 to 1 interview lah, cos i was too shy to ask the PR agency. wah lao, i feel quite dumb that i wasn't shy to ask the ST writer for a lift back to Orchard MRT (which was on her way back to SPH) (3rd time getting lift back from random strangers from events hahaha) and yet was too shy to speak to a celebrity! :(
oh and you know what, the second day (day of my interview with Se Ri), you know how i went back from Tanah Merah Country Club (the only way to get out is by hiring a cab cos it's super far in)? I sat the players' bus back! Haha, so there were all these international golf superstars on the entire bus with their parents, who stared at me blankly when i walked up the bus, so i just smiled and sat quietly behind beside this Korean woman who's the mother of one of the Korean stars, which i didnt bother to ask who, cos she obviously couldnt speak English when i tried communicating with her :(
so throughout the bus ride back to the Ritz Carlton (where the players are staying), i sat diagonally across Natalie Gulbis who was talking to Paula Creamer so i evesdropped on their conversation and together with evesdropping Gulbis' parents' conversations. i obviously couldnt understand a word the Koreans behind me were saying so no point evesdropping. Hur hur. Yeah, so i just kept quiet cos i didn't want to appear like paparazzi (or be jailed at 19 for stalking celebrities) and give the company a bad name or cause them to be irritated or smth. And i kept deliberating if i should ask to take a picture on the bus but decided not to, in case if i take with one, then another get irritated that i never ask her or smth. So the only thing i did was to ask Natalie for a photo after i got off the bus, seeing that the rest were busy. (i kind of regret not asking Paula Creamer and Se Ri Pak though). And imagine if i were fan crazy or bold enough to ask the entire bus for signatures! You know i went online, Se Ri Pak's signature is worth US$65! Oh man! i missed the opportunity to make a fortune! oh yeah and i saw Annika Sorenstam having lunch with her caddie and someone else and i wanted to ask her for photo but i figured i will look silly. lol next time i shouldnt even bother about all these sort of things. haha OH WELL, it was rare enough just being on the bus i guess. LOL
Something wrong with blogger so my captions are screwed but whatever.

Now i'm inspired to take up golf! I've always wanted to play but no opportunity to. (thanks carmen choy for promising to bring me heh) maybe i should keep up with golf news (but then again, i would fail cos i'ld forget to check and so on) haha oh well.
