ok so i started the new job at TBWA/Tequila on Tuesday as a Traffic intern. The place is an advertising agency with its headquarters based in US and with 258 offices in 75 countries and over 9,700 employees (thanks wikipedia) so singapore is just one of the many.

anyway the place is pretty cool, with its own 4-storey building (huge contrast from MillionaireAsia's tiny office) beside Maxwell Market (found out chiewyong is nearby, YAY lunch buddy! ANYBODY ELSE? lol everyone else are located at raffles place/ city hall/ bugis..hurrr) ok anyway, everyone in the office are the creative kind so everyone dresses casually, arrives late for work, take cigarette breaks on the top floor which is open air, grab booze from the mini fridge in the pantry, play foosball when bored, convert meeting rooms into flea markets (i was quite amused) to sell their clothes during lunchtime (i bought jeans+cargopants for $50, MSN at work (seriously EVERYBODY MSNs at work). i'll upload the pictures i took of the place soon. But then of course there are the downsides as usual, EVERYBODY works late, Traffic has 5 ppl including me so they take shifts each night to see who stays late (apparently I have to be prepared to stay back thurs/fri?!?), and of course there is a damn lot of office politics. With 192 staff (not including me and a handful of newcomers, it's kind of like being in school all over again. Office gossip is juicy, but office politics are scary, and apparently TBWA is already one of the nicer companies in the industry. but at least not everyone here are bitchy, went for lunch with some colleagues at the Nasi Padang stall (which was damn good) opp greatworld beside zouk (cos we had to shoot some still shots for this AXN commercial and i was calafare) and some of them are quite nice to explain the whole works in the agency to me and so on. ok sorry you have to listen to me ramble on and on but i realise no matter how much i try to blog differently i still end up rambling to myself. oh well whatever

only 3 days and i already could feel the stress in the place. i have to run here run there to pass messages documents and be careful not to screw up (i had to learn all the appreviations shortforms whatnot with little explanation from the boss cos she's damn busy and gets frustrated easily whenever i ask a question :/ Basically Traffic coordinates everything in the agency from scratch to the finished product, there are many departments such as HR, finance, digital media, production, creative, account servicing, studio...so the job's not as easy as it sounded and i thought it would be. and i was quite scared of stepping on the boss' toes and she wanted me to work late til 8pm on thursday but i gave her some family excuse cos i had to meet chuwen rachel nat at furama to set up the wii! i cant imagine working late (if i have to) from next week onwards at $500/month without cpf. oh but anyway the ppl in the creative dept come up with concepts and draw a rough idea of the presentations and they are damn good! Sentosa's ResortWorld, Siloso Beach, SIA, StanChart are one of our many clients...so i got to see some of the upcoming advertisements/promotions that are going to become a reality soon! wah but i was really quite impressed at how much skill they had at drawing and photoshop (cos im totally noob) and so on. and they reminded me of cheryl, winifred (sorry i couldnt swim with u and vk this weekend cos my thing came :/

OH YAH THANKS EVERYBODY who celebrated my birthday- rachelchiang, s29 (melkiew vk kris eric alwin marcus joel), cell (aaron ian zhenyang sarah kaye charlotte justin dean amanda nat) and EVERYBODY else for their well wishes and THANKS miss jasmine tan (if you are reading this cos we all know you read students' blogs hahaha) again and melissa woo for dinner, and thanks colleen for dessert! MUCH LOVES<3 Ok i got to go prepare for chuwen nat's Tric or Treat (idea modelled after One Tree Hill!) at Furama. i'm dressed as a pirate cos my flower costume totally didnt work out.

oh i hope melissa's self-planned mission trip to thailand works out so i can go for at least one week, seems like things are abit shaky and unconfirmed now hm. OH YES MY MOTHER REMOVED DISNEY CHANNEL (along with Cartoon Network (which i dont care abt) and NICKALODEON!) Just when hannah montana is aired every weekday evening at 9pm. sian. HELLO PPL WHO STILL HAVE DISNEY CHANNEL, when high school musical 3 comes out, can i go to your hse to watch pretty please! HAHA dont laugh at me ok, you know you will watch it. even if its secretly, and then openly criticising it. it's like how you are with watching chick flicks, HAHA!

can u believe i cant take leave until 17 apr (save sick leave) cos im on a 1-mnth minimum contract, and if im not good enough i'll be asked to leave or if i'm good then they'll let me stay for 3 months. i couldnt believe how serious they were seeing the amount of documents i had to sign, i even have to do a timesheet! oh but MillionaireAsia's singapore staff are going for a daytrip to KL sometime in Apr on a Friday to celebrate the Millionaire's Summit launch in Msia and they invited me and i'm so tempted to take leave and go! maybe i will. i guess there's still this sense of attachment, i still check my email account there every day without fail at TBWA hoping to recieve more emails :/ i guess after all, it was my very first job.

OH and i have to study for my Basic Theory Practice which is next Sat and i havent started! then there's Uni apps which i havent submitted yet and its due next week AH

and I WANT TO GO ON A(nother)HOLIDAY! :(
