so i woke up to a very quiet morning.
Traffic seemed so much quieter, even the construction at clementi was almost silent. the doctor gave me ear drops yesterday to drop it in my ear so now everything's really muffled, and its not just one ear now but two. now i know how it's like (well, almost) for a deaf person. today at home, because my maid speaks so softly, she had to repeat like almost a dozen times to ask if i was coming home for dinner because i couldnt make out what she was saying. and on the train, i couldnt decipher what the person's conversation with his friend was, let alone evesdrop, it was just a soft murmuring and everything seemed slurred.
maybe what colleen said is right, God silenced my world temporarily (i hope, going to the doctor's again to syringe everything out) to hear Him because sometimes He has so much to say but we are too busy making noise that we silence Him.
or maybe He wants me to realise how much we are blessed- to even be able to hear the noisy crying of babies, to screams of kids on the train, the loud music which the ahbengs play from their handphones and other similar sounds which we often get frustrated over and complain about.
i guess we never really realise how much we have until we lose it.
