Back from Cebu, Philippines! Highlight of my trip was definitely snorkelling at helitongan (sp?) island. the waters were damn clear and you could see all the bright multi-coloured fishes and coral! and we were given bread so we could feed them, and when you did they went right up to your face. and fishes are actually quite noisy, their teeth chatter and you can hear it when they are v close to you. and we were given the luxury to rent the entire boat to ourselves hahaha how cool is that, when in singapore it will cost thousands. i want to go snorkelling again!

OH YES I SAW MANY COOL HATS FOR S$10 but my mother refused to let me buy saying that she rather spend the money on herself since i will not wear the hat again in town or whatever. and thats so not true! but anw the hats there are sort of caps, but i want the topman/zara man kind aiya whatever

and anyway, yet again i feel blessed to be born in Singapore, the same feeling after i stepped off Indian soil last last yr. Most of the ppl in philippines live in squatters, and very little of them are educated. and the fact that you could get jobs out of singapore (whether it was as domestic workers/maids or as nurses or professionals) was already counted very lucky. it was v sad seeing kids beg on the streets w no shoes and looking very dirty, and the homeless sleeping along the roads. and there was this family, selling stray puppies along the road, and the puppies were whimpering! so poor thing. i wish i was a millionaire so i could put everyone in houses. so anyway thank God for our singapore government, really we complain alot but we dont see how capable they are, because if they were just as corrupted as many other governments in asia, we could still be living in tin roofed houses, or atap sheds.

ok i decided to go back to work for 3 more wks. cos i reckon it beats staying at home doing nothing for 2 more months, or going out spending cash everyday.

today i alr got one day off work (supposed to have lunch w my dept but one woman is on leave. then i cant decide if i shld go back to work anw to donate blood cos they are having this blood donation drive but i dont want to go all the way there and be rejected just cos i came back from a sort of rural country? THEN i was supposed to have driving today but i dont know why i went to cancel the booking cos i was scared i couldnt make it and so now i have no plans except dinner in the evening with hweeyi and noelle) AND SO. i am bored at home.

of course i could always do volunteer work, sign up for classes, and what not, but i decided i will have july to do that. anyway, i dont think im ready to leave work just yet, the ppl i wanted to say bye to last wk were outstationed! anw will be changing dept after this big hoo ha with the boss. honestly i dont regret my decision or action for that matter, i just regret the manner in which i handled the situation. haiya its a damn long story which i will save for another day

meanwhile, pictures to be up soon!
